Cooperation Agreementsigned with the People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University)

During the trip to the People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University, Moscow, Russia) from June 16 to 17 on the occasion of Day of Russian Science, the USSH President signed the Memorandum of Understanding with RUDN.

RUDN University is one of the leading public higher educational institutions in Russia. It is presumably the only university in the world enrolling students from up to 145-150 countries. More than 77,000 students have been graduated from graduate programs (including 5,500 PhDs) working in 170 countries.The institution is currently having over 29,000 master’s and doctoral students from 140 countries.

USSH and RUDN University jointly signed the Agreement of Cooperation, which covered these following major points:

Schemes of cooperation:

- Exchange of students (including undergraduate and graduate students)

- Exchange of lecturers and staff;

- Joint research projects between the two universities’ researchers;

- Support in planning new academic projects/programs;

- Exchange of information and publishing;

- Organization of joint workshops, conferences;

Fields of cooperation:

The two universities agreed on collaboration in fields of mutual interests given the financial status and practicality, the two universities will jointly establish educational projects and training programs. Each respective university shall designate a coordinator to oversee and facilitate the implementation of the joint programs. The coordinators shall have responsibility to periodically report the status and progress of cooperation at least once a year. 

Exchange of students:

Both universities agreed specific details for the student exchange programs will be discussed and identified in the Appendix of Cooperation Programsattached to this Agreement. Both universities will promote and ensure the accommodation and adequate conditions for exchange students’ academic activities, if applicable and necessary during the students’ stay at respective universities.

Exchange of lecturers and staff:

The aim for the lecturers and staff exchange are teaching and researching. The university will send the official invitation to the partner upon request for providing specific details for exchange activities (requirements, timeline, etc.). The negotiation for lecturers and staff exchange between both Universities will include purposes, methods, and funding provision for lecturers and staff.  

Career-orientation training and exchange of administrative and technical staff:

Both universities mutually agreed on running training programs for administration and technical staff.

The Agreement unfolds new collaboration programs and opportunities. In particular, the delegation from RUDN University will pay a visit and work with USSH on the specific cooperative programs.

The collaboration between both universities has laid the foundation for a long term and sustainable relationship, with diversity in activities and directions for development. It can be found in previous Memorandum of Understanding and Student Exchange Agreementssigned by USSH and other Russian institutions, namely Leningrad University, A.S.Pushkin National Institute, Moscow Lomonoxop National University, Far Eastern State University, Komsomolsk-na-Amure University of Education, Saint-Peterburg University, Russkiy Mir Foundation, Technological Institute of Southern Federal University, etc.
